Brian Frus Appointed Interim General Manager at SLV Water District
Felton resident and registered civil engineer Brian Frus has been named as Interim General Manager for the San Lorenzo Valley Water District, replacing Rick Rogers, who retired this month after serving the District for 48 years. Brian told the San Lorenzo Valley Post, “My recent experience in Monterey County taught me the importance of sound water policy and regional resource stewardship.”
Brian begins his six-month contract on November 20, 2023. Applications are still being accepted for the permanent SLVWD GM position; Frus will also be considered in that process.
Brian founded Altamain Consulting, a Felton-based solar photovoltaic systems company, and has held a seat on the City of Salinas County and City Governments Committee where he provided input and recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency. He most recently served as the Energy Manager for the City of Salinas Water, Waste and Energy department. Brian specializes in analysis, engineering, design, and construction, with an emphasis on environmental policy and solar technologies. With a local’s knowledge of the mountains, he is well-versed in regional source water supply infrastructure including stormwater capture and reuse.
“I have been a resident of San Lorenzo Valley for 25 years,” Brian told the Post, “and I believe the Water District is a local treasure. I am grateful and proud to have this opportunity to serve the community by helping the District meet the challenges that lie ahead.”
Brian has long been a supporter of Felton Library Friends and is also an avid outdoor enthusiast and a professional photographer, and he can be found anywhere in the Valley where there’s art and live music. Congratulations Brian!
